City of Dreams Mediterranean, the first in Cyprus resort with a casino, resumed its development, since the owner and operator Melco Resorts & Entertainment received permission to continue construction work from the Council of Ministers, the executive authority of the Cyprus government.

As noted, the construction of this important object for the economy of Cyprus was suspended due to the continuing coronavirus pandemic, but now the government’s ministers have removed the restrictions in the construction sector. Nevertheless, a number of government departments have collected recommendations on how to act safely so that the builders always have been protected. A number of measures are being implemented at the construction site, including the presentation of the health status and regular temperature checks on the spot.

Workers will have to wear face protective masks while working on the site, and disinfectants for hands will be provided with entry and travel from the construction site.

Vice President for Construction in Melco Resorts & Entertainment Will Kornish commented on this news:

"The COVID-19 pandemic outbreak could affect our original schedule, but Melco gives the priority of the safety of our colleagues and the quality of the project. We remain committed to the Cypriot project – we strive to provide excellent entertainment quality by offering the highest standards for service and ensuring a safe environment for all guests. We understand that our role in the development of the tourist industry and, in a broader sense, in the economy of Cyprus, is vital, especially in these difficult times. We will continuously work on the fact that after this crisis the country has become a guide for luxurious tourism ".
